Sell a closed company's records to AI labs: who writes for it
Updated
aitrainer.work and SimpleClosure's Asset Hub name closed or shut-down companies outright, and BuyMyDeadStartup is where a dead startup's records can be listed for buyers to see.
- aitrainer.work: its sell page is headed "Sell private code, data or a closed company's records to AI labs", and its register stores a description of what a company owns, such as "a 40-person SaaS that closed in 2025", never the data itself. The buyer deals with the company directly and, where there is customer or employee personal data, handles anonymisation.
- SimpleClosure Asset Hub: names proprietary code, repositories, technical documentation, communications and workflows, and says every dataset is processed for PII before it is licensed.
- BuyMyDeadStartup: a seller can list "Source code, internal documents, and operational records such as tickets, support logs and correspondence."; the page answers "No" when asked whether it takes custody of the data.
What they say about personal data
aitrainer.work leaves the anonymisation to the buyer, while SimpleClosure says every dataset is processed for PII before it is licensed, without saying by whom. BuyMyDeadStartup does not say whether personal data is removed; it says price, terms, legal questions and privacy questions are handled directly between buyer and seller.
